Betting on the USC Trojans Basketball Team

The Trojans of USC play PAC 12 Division I NCAA basketball. Home games are played at the 10,258 seat Galen Center. The Trojans wear cardinal and gold uniforms, and they last made it to the NCAA tournament's Final Four in 1954. The 2007 USC team advanced to the March Madness Sweet 16, and in the 21st century the team has appeared in 6 NCAA tournaments. 2009 saw the Trojans claim their only Conference Tournament Championship. The Trojans also boast 7 conference regular season championships, the last one coming in 1985. Current head coach is Andy Enfield, formerly of Florida Gulf Coast University. Though they are not the state's strongest collegiate basketball team, they are still covered in California basketball betting lines, even though they won't yield a tremendous volume of action within California sports betting categories.

The USC Trojans 2014 - 2015 Basketball Season

Under new head coach Andy Enfield in 2013, USC managed just 11 wins against 21 losses. Even worse, the Trojans were 2 - 16 against conference opponents. The PAC 12 is a competitive conference, and USC will have to work hard to escape the cellar. But Enfield managed to pilot Florida Gulf Coast University to several huge March Madness upsets before becoming the Trojans coach. So no doubt the team will improve on last year's record. And with 3 important starters from last year gone, 2014 - 2015 will see a large group of young and talented prospects that Enfield can mold into winners. The nonconference schedule is also very friendly, so the argument can be made for an expectation of a 16 to 18 win season. As far as a March Madness tournament appearance, that does not look like it is in the Trojans' cards for this season.

All-Time Record Versus PAC 12 Opponents

The University of Southern California Trojans have not fared well against most of the PAC 12, as far as an overall record is concerned (as of 2014). USC owns a lead against only 4 of its 11 conference opponents. However, they own a 122 - 122 record with Stanford, and also a tie 17 - 17 record with Utah. They actually trail the series record versus 5 PAC 12 opponents; Arizona, California, Colorado, UCLA and Washington. The Trojans lead Washington State, Oregon State, Oregon and Arizona State in the all-time series with those colleges.

Notable USC Trojans Basketball Players

Gus Williams played basketball for USC from 1971 to 95. He attained All-American status and was a two-time all Pac 10 player. He moved on to play for the Seattle Supersonics in the NBA, where he was a two-time All-Star.

Harold Miner (Baby Jordan) was a high flying guard who played for USC from 1989 to 1992. His college achievements include Pac-10 Freshman of the Year (1990) three-time All-American, three-time All Pac 10, Sports Illustrated National Player of the Year (1992) and Pac-10 Player of the Year in '92 as well. Miner was a two-time NBA slamdunk contest champion.

Paul Westphal was a talented, ambidextrous guard who eventually saw his number 44 Phoenix Suns jersey retired in the NBA. He was the USC captain in 1972, a three-time All Pac 10 player and All-American. The five-time NBA All-Star earned a championship with the Boston Celtics in 1974.
